How we verify

This directory lists factory, brewery, distillery and craft tours in Japan, with the English support each facility confirms. Support may be limited or unconfirmed. Every entry is taken from the facility's official page, not from travel articles.

How entries are written

The list of facilities is chosen by a person. The details on each page, such as fees, booking and English support, are extracted from the official page by an AI model (Claude) and then checked by a person against the original text before they first appear here. Each page shows when it was last verified and whether that was by a person or automatically.

What "verified" means

A facility is listed once a person has confirmed that tours are running and how much they cost or how to book. English support may still be unconfirmed at that point; the label on each card says which. Every week we fetch each official page again. If the page has not changed, we record the check date. If it has changed, we read the new text and compare it with what we list. Small details such as duration or closed days update automatically. Anything that affects your visit, such as whether tours are running, how to book, the fee, or English support, is reviewed by a person before it changes here.

What "not confirmed" means

When a page does not say whether an English guide, audio guide, subtitles or brochure exist, we record it as unknown and showNot confirmed rather than guessing. "No" means the page says it is not offered.

Alcohol and age

The legal drinking age in Japan is 20, even though the age of adulthood is 18. At breweries, distilleries and sake breweries, tastings are only for visitors aged 20 and over, and staff may ask to see photo ID. Younger visitors can often join the tour itself but are served soft drinks, as is anyone who is driving. Official websites of alcohol brands usually show an age-confirmation screen before the page loads. This is an industry practice rather than a legal check; confirm your age to continue.
